Merry Christmas from Shutterfly

So Shutterfly is doing this rad Christmas promotion. I get to tell you about how awesome they are and then they send me a promo code :) We have ordered Christmas cards from them before and were totally pleased with them. The last time we ordered, we got the typical glossy photo cards (you can see their selections HERE). This year we are going for the flat stationery cards (HERE...way cute!!!) that are printed on "premium cardstock" and I can not wait to see them in real life. Now the problem is which one do i pick? They are all so cute I can not just choose ONE!! Here are some of my favorites...

Can you tell I am in love with the square 5x5 cards?  The only downfall with them being square is they are extra postage to mail.  I kinda think the cuteness it is worth it though. What do you think?

OK one more thing. Have you ever given or gotten a photo calender as a gift?  I always think they look way cute, but am not sure if it is a cool gift. What is your thought on that? If you do give them as gifts who or what are the pictures of  you would include? HERE are the calendar designs Shutterfly has.

Long Time No Quilt!

Having a new baby has made it hard for me to get anything done. AND for those of you who know me well, know I have absolutely no kind of routine, so making time is pretty much impossible :) BUT I'm so excited that I FINALLY finished some quilts! Right now they are off getting quilted. One is a simple strip quilt that I made for Baby Dayne and the other is Myles' "Big Boy Bed" Quilt (I have a post with a pic of the pattern HERE) I can't wait to post pictures when I get them back.

Oh and I made Avery's Easter dress and it's adorable. I will post a picture once I take one ;)

Here is my finished bag...
The fabrics I used were "City Blooms" by Benartex and "Dottie" by Moda.

Myles' "Big Boy Bed" Quilt

This is the pattern for Myles' new quilt (click the pic to see more detail). He has been sleeping in his "big boy bed" with a crib size quilt. I'm using 1930's reproduction fabrics. I'm cutting out the triangles right now and getting ready to assemble the hexagons. I'll update with more pics ASAP!

Self-Binding Receiving Blanket

Okay, so I know this isn't a "quilt", but it's a homemade blanket, so I'm posting it. PLUS, it's adorable! LOL :) This is the first thing I've made for the new baby. It was so, so simple to make. The backing ends up also being the binding, with mitered corners. I think the rick-rack is the perfect final touch! (I found a great tutorial HERE)
